Point72 Asset Management, L.P. has an opening for a Research Analyst in New York, NY. Deconstruct and examine published accounting statements (Form 10Ks and 10Qs) for subject companies in the TMT (Technology, Media & Telecom) sector. Prepare and maintain forecasts of a company’s operations and future accounting statements through financial models. Prepare comprehensive written reports on subject companies that highlight key strengths of a business and the outlook for growth, on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis. Meet with management teams of subject companies to better understand the business operations, and strategic direction of the company. Develop relationships with industry contacts for channel checks on subject companies to assess the accuracy of estimates, and management commentary. Cover media, telecommunications, as well as gaming, lodging and leisure industries.

Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field and at least three years of prior work experience as a Financial Analyst or in a related role. Must also possess experience with the following: at least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Excel with advanced modeling; at least 3 years of experience handling large and complex structured and unstructured data sets to filter and analyze relevant information for the purpose of fundamental equity research; at least 2 years of experience interacting directly with public company management teams; at least 2 years of research expertise in relevant areas of industry coverage including gaming, lodging and leisure subsegments of the public equities markets; and at least 2 years of experience synthesizing complex unstructured problems into digestible and actionable investment recommendations in the public equity markets.
