Program Overview
Attendees:
This program is specifically designed for international students who will be interning in the quantitative finance or risk management roles in NYC this summer. Attendees are identified by IAQF member schools as “high-potential” candidates who have strong technical skills and wish to further refine your commercial, business communications, and networking skills.
Benefits:
Through the program, you will:
Enhance your business communications skills so you can thrive in a professional environment;
Receive guidance at “critical points” of your internship program (i.e. first impression, mid-term review, final review/offer), so you are more successful in getting a full-time offer; and
Increase your industry exposure and network, hence your overall marketability.
Approach:
The program will focus on building tangible skills (e.g. pitch, individual/group presentation, interview) by embedding simulated interview/presentation/feedback components into each session.
Instructor:
The sessions will be led by IAQF/SavvyRookies’ team of top-notch career experts, industry practitioners, and recruiters/internship program managers. The instructors have diverse background and are sensitive to the cultural nuances in the classroom. Also, a dedicated career coach will be assigned to support you for any questions and situations arising during the program.
Goal:
While business communication skills are hard to have a “quantum leap” in a short amount time, the goal of the program is to increase your confidence and performance in handling professional and social situations during your summer internship. We will measure your improvement by comparing where you began and ended.
Fee:
$750 per attendee for 10 weeks of professional development programs, including
6 in-person sessions in NYC, on topics critical to your career success;
On-going support by a dedicated career coach throughout the program; and
Various career resources (e.g. professional image guides, pitch template, etc)
